1984 In My Favorite Show

 Those of you who are familiar with my interests may be aware that my favorite television show is Community. While the show referenced 1984 on numerous occasions during its six-year run, one particular episode uses Orwell's novel as both a motif and a reference. During this episode a character starts school at the community college where the characters study. His name is Subway, yes, Subway, as in the sandwich company. Subway the man is in fact an official representative of the company who has had his identity stripped away in order to demonstrate "the collective humanity of Subway." Although, Subway is relatively happy in his job, he yearns to break free citing Orwell in conversations about his corporate imprisonment. Ultimately he is caught breaking the rule "have a relationship" and is stripped of his subway identity and drawn away, Question: Do you think this sitcom episode has actual philosophical and moral value, or does its comedic  nature neutralize that...
